Manage Cloud Accounts

This topic describes how to manage cloud accounts, such as switching system roles, inviting others to create subaccounts, removing subaccounts, and upgrading a subaccount to become the main account.


Precautions

In Relyt, only accounts with the ACCOUNTADMIN system role can manage cloud accounts and only main accounts can be members of the ACCOUNTADMIN system role.

This means that if you log in with the main account but switch its system role to SYSTEMACCOUNT, you will not be able to perform account management operations unless you switch the system role back.


Before you start

Ensure you have obtained the main account.


Switch the role of your cloud account

This section describes how to switch the role of your cloud account temporarily in the Relyt console.

  1. Sign in to the Relyt console using the main account.

  2. Click your profile at the upper-right corner of the page.

  3. Expand the system role list, and select the target system role.

After the operation is complete, the new role is immediately displayed at the upper-right corner and takes effect.

Note that this operation makes just a temporary change to your cloud account. If you do not automatically switch the role back, the role of your cloud account will be automatically resumed to the original upon next sign-in.


Invite others to create subaccounts

  1. Sign in to the Relyt console using the main account.

  2. In the left sidebar, choose Account Management > Accounts.

  3. On the page that is displayed, click + Account.

  4. On the Invite Account page, enter the invitee's email in the Email field, and click Invite.

    You can enter multiple emails in the Email field to invite multiple people in a batch.

After the invitee accepts the invitation and completes the registration, the corresponding subaccount is created and can be viewed in the list provided in the Accounts tab page.


Manage invitations

You can manage the invitations that are expired or pending for acceptation.

  1. Sign in to the Relyt console using the main account.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select Account Management. Then, choose Invitations.

  3. In the row of the target invitation, choose ... > Action you want to perform.

    The actions available for a pending invitation include:

    • Copy Invitation Link: allows you to directly paste the link to the invitee.

    • Delete: removes the invitation.

    The actions available for an expired invitation include:

    • Resend Invitation: resends the invitation.

    • Delete: deletes the invitation.

  4. (Optional) If the action to perform is Delete, click Confirm in the displayed dialog box.


Disable / Enable a subaccount

  1. Sign in to the Relyt console using the main account.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select Account Management.

    The Accounts tab page is displayed by default.

  3. In the row where the target subaccount resides, choose ... > Action you want to perform.

    • Disable: disables the subaccount. Only enabled subaccounts can be disabled.

    • Enable: enables the subaccount. Only disabled subaccounts can be enabled.


Delete a subaccount

  1. Sign in to the Relyt console using the main account.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select Account Management.

    The Accounts tab page is displayed by default.

  3. In the row where the target subaccount resides, choose ... > Delete.

  4. In the dialog box that is displayed, click Confirm.


Upgrade a subaccount to the main account

To change the main account of your organization, log in using the current main account and upgrade the desired subaccount to become the new main account.

warning

Upgrading a subaccount to the main account will downgrade the current main account to a subaccount. This downgraded account will lose its ability to manage cloud accounts. Proceed carefully.

  1. Sign in to the Relyt console by using the main account.

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose Account Management.

    The Accounts tab page is displayed by default.

  3. In the row where the target subaccount resides, choose ... > Upgrade.

  4. In the Upgrade to Main Account dialog box, enter the verification code sent to your email, and click Upgrade.
